Menu
The aim is to introduce the story through a cinematic thanks to the menu. At the same time as the camera go down along the trunk, the bird leaves its nest to falling down. There's the same number of feather hidden in game to make the player understand that the bird has lost them and he has to retrieve them.
The font used is the "papyrus", identical to the one used on the tutorial signs to remind Human civilization. The color of the font isĀ  the same as the color of the feather. The key to use is highlighted in order to prepare the player to use this.
HUD
The aim was to recall the Mayan civilization and to establish as an initiation ritual to adulthood. For that, the steles remind the Mayan alphabet stones. According to this, a mechanism in the stone is activated when a feather is retrieved. The illuminated color, is a reminder of the characteristic of the dress of the quetzal called "iridescent".
The digital painting is the best way to give this impression of trace left by a Human civilization.
The tutorial signs are also a reminder of the feather stelle. They represent stones maintained by lianas, which allows them to be complementary with the decor, while being contrasting enough to be noticed. The intention was to resume the idea of inscriptions engraved in the stone
For the flight mechanics (see third sign), the idea was to schematize the sequence of the flight.
First, 3 jumps (which make us glide), then 3 other jumps which make us fly (gain of altitude), to then fall beyond this number of jumps.
This schematization is done with the symbolic representation of the quetzal in the Maya civilization.
The purpose of this element is to tell the player how many jumps he has left when he flies, before he falls.
The intention was to remind the feathers ; moreover, the wings refer directly to the idea of flight. The element is only displayed when the player is flying, so the link is quickly created.
Ending Screen
The ending screen is intended to announce a probable sequel. The intention was to deliver a
message of hope that denounces the personal journey of each, in the game as in his life.

Now that the bird has been emancipated, it has all the cards in hand to build its future, and this, on its own, and this, of its own "wings"
